We are a legal firm offering professional services in legal consultancy with more than 38 years of experience.

Academic Background

Law graduate from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and has a master’s in Family Law from the same university.

Work Experience and areas of practice

She founded Cruz Abrego Consorcio Jurídico in 1983 and her areas of practice are civil, family and commercial litigation, including civil liability for defective products, contract enforcement, and mortgage foreclosures, among others.

She has worked with a number of law firms in the United States as an expert in Mexican Law.

Teaching

Ms Cruz Abrego has taught the subjects “People and Goods”, “Contracts” and “Family” at UNAM.

Academic Background

Has a master’s in International Business Law from the Universidad Iberoamericana, having obtained her bachelor’s degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She is a candidate to become a Notary Public and has completed the following postgraduate studies:

  • International Business Law at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UI).
  • Diploma in Industrial Property at UNAM.
  • Diploma in Corporate Law at the Mexico Autonomous Institute of Technology (ITAM).

Areas of Practice

Corporate Law, particularly in matters of corporate governance, non-regulated financial sector entities, personal data protection, mergers and acquisitions, legal due diligence, family businesses, and prevention of money laundering.

Teaching

Ms Macarty is a teacher for the Master’s Degree in Taxes at the Universidad Panamericana in the subject of International Corporate Restructures. She also teaches the Commercial Law module of the bachelor’s degree of the Academy of Economic and Business Sciences at the same university.

Academic Background

Has a bachelor’s degree from the Universidad Panamericana (UP) and has completed the following studies:

  • Specialisation in Commercial Law Institutions from the Universidad Panamericana.
  • Specialisation in Finance Law from the National Commission for the Defence and Protection of the Users of Financial Services (CONDUSEF).
  • Courses: “Law Summer Institute” and “Recent Developments in the U.S. Law” at Fordham Law School, New York.

Work Experience

The notable projects she has participated in include:

  • Being the Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Mexican subsidiary of an international consulting firm.
  • Providing legal advice to foreign companies on corporate structuring in Mexico and day-to-day business operations.
  • the implementation of privacy policies and personal data protection policies in companies on which private funds invest.

Before joining Cruz Abrego Consorcio Jurídico, she worked as a Senior Lawyer for PwC.

Areas of Practice

Corporate Law, mergers and acquisitions, legal due diligence, private capital investment, national and international restructures, and personal data protection.

Teaching

Ms Jara is an assistant teacher of the Commercial Law module of the bachelor’s degree of the Academy of Economic and Business Sciences at the Universidad Panamericana.
